The Kedarnath Dham Yatra from Rishikesh is a popular pilgrimage journey to the Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand, India.

Rishikesh: Rishikesh serves as a major gateway to the Himalayan pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. It is well-connected by road and rail. Many pilgrims start their Kedarnath Dham Yatra from Rishikesh, which is near about 220 kilometers (137 miles) away from Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath Temple.

Road Journey to Gaurikund: From Rishikesh, you can hire a taxi or take a shared jeep to reach Gaurikund. It  takes between  8 to 10 hours, depending on amount of  traffic and road conditions. On the way of Rishikesh to Gourikund  you see  River Ganges, Lush Forests, Waterfalls and Streams, Confluence of Rivers like At Devprayag, the Alaknanda River joins the Bhagirathi River, forming the Ganges, At Rudraprayag, the Mandakini River meets the Alaknanda River, Dhari Devi Temple and beauty of nature and so no.

 

 

Gaurikund: Gaurikund is the base camp for the trek to Kedarnath Temple. It is located at an altitude of about 1,982 meters (6,502 feet) in Rudraprayag district. At Gaurikund, you will find accommodations, restrooms, and facilities for hiring ponies, mules, or pitthus (human carriers) to assist you in the trek.


Trekking from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple:  The trekking distance from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple is approximately 22 kilometers (13 miles).

  If you track yourself it take around 8 t0 10 hours  for normal situation and hope you are healthy enough .

Steep inclines, The steep gradients can be physically demanding, particularly if you are not accustomed to hiking or high-altitude trekking.

Weather Conditions is also a challenge , weather in the region can be unpredictable, Rainfall, snowfall, and sudden changes in temperature is common environmental problem so starting your trek after check weather forecast.

 Basic facilities such as restrooms, food stalls, and accommodations along the trail is limited or crowded during the peak season. Start your tracking in early morning to avoid rush at peak season. Come with  appropriate clothing, including warm layers, rain gear, and sturdy footwear.


But when you reach the temple, you feel heavenly and forget all pain during track.
